text: 4451 Grieve, provisional designation 1988 JJ, is a stony asteroid and large Mars-crosser on an eccentric orbit from the central asteroid belt, approximately 12 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered on 9 May 1988, by American astronomer Carolyn Shoemaker at the Palomar Observatory in California. The S-type asteroid is likely elongated and has a rotation period of 6.9 hours. It was named for Canadian geologist Richard Grieve.
