Buffalo Gap is a town in Taylor County, Texas, United States. It is part of the Abilene, Texas Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 543 at the 2020 census. Buffalo Gap’s roots trace back to the early 1870s, when Buffalo Soldiers arrived to hunt the buffalo herds migrating from Montana into Texas.
