text: Faxon Township is a township in Sibley County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 712 at the 2020 census. Faxon Township was organized in 1858, and named for a local pioneer. In the late fall of 1862 the women's column of Dakota women, children and elderly camped overnight south of Walkers landing, now Faxon, after having been attacked in Henderson. They were en-route from the Lower Sioux Agency to Pike Island at Fort Snelling.
