John Jerome Gorman was a U.S. Representative from Illinois. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Gorman attended the common schools and the Bryant and Stratton Business College at Chicago, Illinois.
He served as clerk and letter carrier in the Chicago city post office 1902-1918.
He studied law at Loyola University Chicago School of Law and graduated in 1914.
He was admitted to the bar in 1914 and commenced practice in Chicago.
