Porumbeni is a commune in Harghita County, Romania. It lies in the Székely Land, an ethno-cultural region in eastern Transylvania, and is composed of two villages, Porumbenii Mari and Porumbenii Mici (Kisgalambfalva). Porumbenii Mari is generally referred to as Galambfalva in Hungarian and was originally called Golumba Mare in Romanian. The commune lies on the Transylvanian Plateau, on the banks of the Târnava Mare River. It is located in the southwestern part of the county, on the border with M
