Vincent A. Fischetti is an American microbiologist and immunologist, and Head of the Laboratory of Bacterial Pathogenesis and Immunology at Rockefeller University in New York City. He is known for pioneering the use of phage lysins as therapeutics, and for being the first scientist to clone and sequence a surface protein on gram-positive bacteria, the M protein from Streptococcus pyogenes, determining its unique coiled-coil structure.
